What does grass fed and grain-finished mean?
Grass-fed beef graze on pasture their entire lives. Grain-finished means that 2 months prior to butchering, the beef receive a supplemented source of calories (rolled corn, rolled barley, soybean meal, cane molasses) in addition to pasture grass and forage. Grass-fed and grain-finished beef is juicier, more tender, and well-marbled with a flavor that is sweeter and more desirable than commercially-raised beef, the primary diet of which is corn and by-products.
Is your beef raised with hormones or antibiotics?
No. You have the reassurance of knowing that we are serious about raising beef on natural grass and forage in a stress-free environment. We never use any hormones or antibiotics.
Why does it matter if beef is aged?
When beef is aged, it allows the natural biochemical and enzymatic processes to develop the rich flavor and ultimate tenderness desired.
How long is the aging process?
Our beef is generally aged 14 days.
What quantities of beef do you sell?
We sell our beef in either the full or a side.
What size freezer will I need to store beef?
Generally, you need a 16 cubic foot freezer for a full size beef, and about an 8 cubic foot freezer for a side.a half or side, .
